Started in March of 2003, Dance Central strives to be a leading dance studios in the Cypress Texas area. It was built from the ground up by Ms. Danielle, with the help of family and friends. Dance Central offers 3 of the largest dance studios with state of the art dance floors in the Cypress area.

Our Mission
The mission of Dance Central, LLC is to educate, inspire, and motivate students of all ages and levels by providing quality technical instruction. Dance Central, LLC seeks to develop self-esteem, responsibility, self disipline and setting and achieving goals.

Our Staff
Danielle Shoaf
Raised in Houston, Texas, Ms. Danielle began her dance training under the direction of Kay Bily.
Ms. Danielle received a Bachelor of Science in Dance Management from Oklahoma City University.
While at OCU she trained with Jo Rowan, Lyn Cramer, Liz Reiter, Richard Denson, and Kay Sandal,
studying tap, jazz, ballet, and musical theatre. She was also a member of the American Spirit Dance
Company and Spirit of Dance Liturgical Company. Being a member of these companies, she had the
opportunity to tour Singapore, Malaysia, London, and Las Vegas. After graduation, Ms. Danielle
worked for Lyric Theater in Oklahoma, then returned to Houston to work in the public relations
department of Houston Ballet. She continued to teach at several studios in the Houston area,
until she decided to open Dance Central, LLC in March of 2003. Ms. Danielle is a member of
Texas Association Teachers of Dancing and continues to take classes and attend conventions.
Ms. Danielle currently lives in the Cypress area and is married to Shane Shoaf. They are
the proud parents of Oscar, Nyla, Oliver, and baby Agnes!

Kay Bily
Kay, a native Houstonian, successfully operated her own dance studio in Northwest Houston
for 18 years. She is a lifetime member of the Texas Association Teachers of Dancing where
she served on the Board of Directors as well as an adjudicator for their merit scholarship
and tap scholarship awards. This summer she continued her study of tap under
Nicole Hockenberry, Acia Gray, Bril Barrett, Terry Brock, Jay Fagan, Germaine Salzberg
and the legendary, Diane Walker at the Soul To Sole Tap Festival in Austin Texas
and the Third Coast Rhythm Project in San Antonio. Once again this summer, she
continued her study of tap at the Soul2Sole festival in Austin,TX, as well as the Third
Coast Rhythm Project in San Antonio. She has trained under Lane Alexander, Tre Dumas,
Jay Fagan, Acia Gray, Nicole Hockenberry, Sarah Petronio, and Matt Shields.
This September, she and her daughter Demi, will travel to Vancouver, BC to further
augment their tap education. There Kay will undergo a 3 day continuous residency
studying a medley of Leon Collins' historic works under the direction of Dianne Walker.
Ms. Kay holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Houston
and is a licensed pharmacist. Having taught students of all ages in ballet,
pointe, tap and jazz as well as physical education for Cy-Fair ISD, she finds
happiness in sharing her love of movement with others. When asked what
her favorite subject is, her answer without hesitation is tap! We can't wait
for Ms. Kay to share her tap knowledge with our students!



Bernadette Patten
Bernadette Patten continues here at Dance Central for her fifth year.
She is originally from the San Francisco Bay Area, where she
trained with Olga Ziceva, Richard Gibson and Berle Davis. Other
teachers that have inspired her unique style include Ron Forella,
Don Farnsworth, Roland Dupree, Harvey Hysell and the Alvin Ailey
School in New York. She earned her BA in Theater Arts from San Francisco
State University. She has toured with Plexis Dance Company in Ventura, CA
and was a soloist with Balley Hysell in New Orleans. She has attended the
Cecchetti Council Seminar for Teachers of Ballet, the Oklahoma City University
Teacher Training Seminar and Mia Michaels and Brian Friedman’s The PULSE Tour.
She taught dance and theater arts at Gregory-Lincoln Middle School in HISD,
a performing arts magnet school and is currently the dance director for Cornerstone
Academy in SBISD. Her choreography credits include, Annie, Cinderella, Fiddler on
the Roof and Into the Woods. Ms Bernadette is inspired by dance, theater and
music and shares this love with her students. She loves the students at Dance Central.

Shawn Lester
Shawn Lester has been dancing since the age of nine. He grew up in Deer Park, Texas,
where he began his training at Art Park Dance, quickly moving his way up and winning
the highly esteemed Jefferson Lee Scholarship Award. He has performed with many
dance companies in Houston, including Psophonia, Houston Metropolitan Dance Company,
Uptown Street Dance Company, & Swingtown Jitterhoppers. He has also performed the
role of The Cavalier in several Houston and Dallas area productions of the holiday
favorite, The Nutcracker. For the past several years, he has been teaching all styles
of dance, as well as choreographing for competitions & musicals. Shawn is married
to our own beloved Ms. Lulu, and is thrilled to be a part of Dance Central staff!

Lulu Santos
Lulu Santos has proudly been on staff at Dance Central for nine years, working
closely with the competition & performing company. She has been teaching to all
ages and levels of dance in area preschools and studios for over fifteen years,
specializing in jazz, contemporary, & hip-hop. Additionally, she has choreographed
for numerous local drill teams and dance competitions. Ms. Lulu has danced for several
performing companies including Houston Metropolitan Dance Company, Uptown Street
Dance Company, Swingtown Jitterhoppers, Frowbiz, The Filipino-American Dance Troupe,
& University Dance Theater. She has been chosen by fellow artists to perform in concerts
such as Dance Salad, Dance Houston, Choreographers X 6, and a opening performance
for The Brian Setzer Orchestra at The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion. She is the proud mother
of two Dance Central students, Kayla and Cameron, and is recently married to our local
celebrity Cavalier, Mr. Shawn. We couldn't imagine starting a new dance year without Ms. Lulu!

Andee Wilson
Ms. Andee has been trained in ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical/modern,
pointe, character, and hip hop. She has taught students of all ages in recreational and
competitive classes at studios and private schools, after-school programs, at day-cares, and
for drill teams in the Houston area. As a member of the nationally ranked dance team, the
*Rhythmasters*, she won numerous awards for solo, duet/trio, and ensemble routines, as
well as student choreography recognition. She received scholarships from Dance Educators
of America, and *I Love Dance* Pageant and Dance Competition to study in New York and
Las Vegas multiple times. She was also named Miss Teen Dance Educators of America when
she was 13. Ms. Andee performed on the Riverwalk in San Antonio for the Pan American
Student Forum, and also in the NFL Pro Bowl Halftime show and the NCAA Citrus Bowl
Halftime show, as well as local parades. Her dance career has taken her to Dallas,
Honolulu, Las Vegas, Nashville, New York, Orlando, and San Antonio. Ms. Andee has
trained with Steven Boyd, Henry LeTang, Mia Michaels, Frank Hatchett, Brenda Buffalino
and others. Her choreography has won on the regional and national levels and has
received entertainment, choreography, and overall high-point awards. She has also been
honored with several Top Teacher acknowledgements. Her students have gone on to
receive scholarships to pursue dance and study with the most famous names in the business.
Ms. Andee has a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Houston.
Ms. Andee and her husband Mark have two sons, Connor and Colton.
This is Ms. Andee's third season with Dancer Central and we are thrilled that she is back!


Amy Miller
Ms. Amy is an international dance teacher and choreographer. Her dance background started
in Fresno, California and continued to grow from there! Ms. Amy has toured with a national
convention, performed and worked as dance captain aboard Holland America Cruise Lines, and
danced professionally as an NBA Sacramento Kings Royal Court dancer. Ms. Miller has not
only won many National dance titles herself, her choreography has also won many judges
awards and accolades throughout the states including Most Entertaining and Best Choreography.
Traveling to Japan and all over the United States, Ms. Amy has taught master classes to all ages.
Ms. Amy has worked with the United Spirit Association Dance Staff for almost a decade teaching
camps, being involved with their program development team as well as judging high school,
collegiate level Regional, All-Star, and National competitions. She also judges for Thunderstruck
Competitions all over the country. Her teaching experience has taken her into classrooms of many
schools in northern California as well as daycares in the Houston and surrounding areas in Texas
replacing a typical physical education hour with dance. Ms. Amy has introduced the love of the
arts and dance education to thousands of individuals through her career. We are thrilled to
have Ms. Amy back for another dance year!


Jessica Rodriguez
Jessica Rodriguez is from Tomball, Texas, where she began her ballet training at the age of 3.
She quickly achieved an advanced level at a young age under the instruction of Gilbert Rome
and Victoria Vittum. Ms. Jessica has attended several professional summer intensives including,
Joffrey Ballet San Antonio, Houston Ballet, Orlando Ballet, Ballet Austin, and Nashville Ballet.
She has recently been accepted into Joffrey Ballet New York City as a year round trainee but
has decided to continue her route in receiving her BFA as a Dance Major at Sam Houston State
University. At Sam Houston State University, Ms. Jessica studied ballet, pointe, modern, jazz,
and aerial silk. She will be graduating with her BFA in December 2012 and she plans to work as a
ballet instructor, while pursuing a professional ballet career in Houston. Ms. Jessica will be working
with our company dancers on Fridays! We are excited to have her join our Dance Central family.


Crystal Scott
Crystal Scott is from Fort Worth, Texas where she discovered her love of dance and art at a young age.
She attained her Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from Sam Houston State University graduating Cum Laude
in December 2010. She received her training at Margo Dean*s School of Ballet and Ballet Concerto by
Artistic Director Margo Dean. During her time at Ballet Concerto, she studied under such artists as
Luiba Peterson, Louis Montero, Christine Hayes, and Bruce Marx. Crystal has recently moved to the
Houston area where she is a performer and company member of Rednerrus Feil Dance Company under
the artistic directorship of Amy Llanes. As well as dancing for RFDC, she is also the Costume Mistress.
We are delighted to have Ms. Crystal teaching several ballet and pointe classes at Dance Central!


Chelsey Spinler
Raised in Houston, Ms. Chelsey received a dance scholarship while at both Kilgore College and the
University of North Texas, where she earned her BA in Dance. While in college she taught ballet
at a local community center and hip hop aerobics at a fitness center. She has studied ballet, modern,
contemporary, tap, jazz, hip hop, African, musical theater and much more. She has studied ballet with
the renowned James Clouser, hip hop with Ivan Dudynsky, modern with Sandi Combest of Erick Hawkins
Dance Co. and Dr. Mary Lynn Babcock. She has also studied modern and dance therapy with Shelley Cushman,
performing in two pieces of her collection: Cinematic Caricatures and Garth Fagan Dance. She is a mom of
two girls Keely and Nori. Ms. Chelsey is also a licensed massage therapist. During Dance Central's tenth season,
Ms. Chelsey will be teaching several classes including: ballet, hip hop and jazz!

Debby Oberly
We couldn't begin the next dance year without Ms. Debby.  Ms.
Debby has devoted her entire life to children.  She has  worked  at
several day cares and Montessori schools.  Ms. Debby is the proud
mother of two daughters and six grandchildren, Devon, Ava,
Lucas, Oscar, Nyla and Oliver.   If you have any questions please don't hesitate
to ask her!  Ms. Debby will be working in the office several days a
week!  We are so grateful that she is back!


Shane Shoaf
Shane Shoaf received a Bachelor of Science in Technical Theater
from Oklahoma City University. During the day Mr. Shane works as the Meeting
Technology Analyst at Conoco and during the evening he helps Ms. Danielle
at Dance Central! We wouldn’t have the wonderful sets, props, and many more of
the technical aspects of our performances without Mr. Shane!
